“Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.” Proverbs 22:6

At New Hope, we believe that children are a gift from God. In turn, God has given parents the primary role of teaching their children what it means to follow Jesus. During “Child Dedication”, parents make a covenant before God and the church, promising to do their best to raise their child to love and follow Him. At the same time, our church family promises to pray for these families and demonstrate God’s love by offering ongoing support and encouragement. “Child Dedication” is different from “Believer’s Baptism”. “Child Dedication” is a commitment made by parents supported by the church family, whereas “Believer’s Baptism” is a public profession of salvation made by those old enough to understand the message of the Gospel and accept Jesus as their personal Savior.
