What do you love about what you do at NH?
The ability to observe God at work through His people, really – it’s stunning what He can do when you get out of the way and let His plan for the church cut loose! Now that is something to behold. NH is the closest thing I’ve ever witnessed re: the body actually being the body… hands, feet, eyes, ears – all doing just what they’re supposed to be doing. It is a ‘Biblical Community’ in every sense of the term.

What year did you join staff?
We launched in 2007.

How did you come to know Jesus?
The Bible speaks of God revealing Himself in creation – that’s what did it for me. Of course lots and lots of input, shaping and teaching from family & church through my earliest years. But truly – overwhelmed with God’s glory in creation at the age of 14 and I just knew I had to yield.

What’s your favorite Bible verse?
Can’t say just one, but if you force my hand… I might narrow it down and lean into Genesis 1:1 & John 1:1 – both pretty declarative about who HE is and who I am in light of that reality.

If you could eat only 3 foods for the rest of your life, what would they be?
Pizza from Chicago, seriously – every day it’d have to be brought in!
Fresh North Pacific Halibut/Salmon from Alaska – of course I’d have to be the one to go get it.
My wife’s bean-dish casserole – it has all the food groups needed for life! (of course so does Pizza)

If you could shop for free at one store, which one would you choose?
Cabela’s of course! Is there any other…? (besides Bass Pro Shop)
