What do you love about what you do at NH?
God has really blessed East Lansing with people from all over the world. Michigan State is home to students from over 138 different nations. Working with these students and sharing the good news of Jesus is one of my favorite things about my job. I enjoy working with young women as well. College is such a pivotal time in someone’s life where they make many choices and I am humbled to be able to mentor and encourage young women to take next steps in their faith.

What year did you join staff?
I joined the New Hope staff family in August of 2017.

How did you come to know Jesus?
I was raised in a family of strong faith -my grandma played an important role in teaching me how to have a personal relationship with Jesus. Coming from a small town and a small church I really lacked community that was my own age and others who could push me to grow. When I arrived at Michigan State, I got involved in a ministry that really pushed me to grow in my faith and take leadership roles. College is an important time of searching for many people and I am excited to able to bring truth to women in this age group.

What’s your favorite Bible verse?
I Peter 4:8-10 (NIV)
“Above all, love each other deeply, because love covers over a multitude of sins. Offer hospitality to one another without grumbling. Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.”

What is a skill you’d like to learn and why?
I would love to learn Mandarin – it would be really useful when talking to Chinese students.

What’s on your bucket list?
I would love to do more traveling. I want to go to Australia, Alaska, Greenland, Hawaii, NYC, etc. I would also LOVE to watch a baseball game in every MLB ballpark. And there’s a Montgomery city in almost every state. I think it would be cool to get a photo in each one!
